How to play
Merge two matching numbers to make their sum: 2 and 2 become 4, then 4 and 4 become 8. Each merge adds the new number to your score. Choose one of four modes before you start.
Classic
Swipe up, down, left or right on the 4×4 board. A move that changes the board adds a new tile. Make room for your next move; the game ends when no legal move remains. Shape and feel change the appearance and animation while the standard 2048 rules stay the same.
Drop
Touch the board, drag sideways to choose a position, then release to drop the held tile straight down. Equal numbers merge when they meet. Plan the landing space: the game ends when tiles remain above the upper fill line.
Shoot
Grab a candidate tile near the top, drag to stretch the aiming arrow, then release to shoot. A longer arrow gives a stronger shot. Equal numbers merge on contact; different numbers push each other. Use gaps and wall rebounds, and keep fired tiles below the fill line.
Gravity
Swipe to choose the direction of gravity. For the next turn, choose a different direction; repeating the same direction adds no tile. One new tile enters after a direction change. Turn the field to line up matching numbers and keep space for the next tile to enter.
Make the puzzle your own
In the physics modes, shape changes the collision outline from triangular to round. Feel changes stiffness and recovery, from rigid to gooey. Adjust friction to change how tiles slide. In Shoot, choose a single candidate or several candidates. These settings change how you plan a merge, so try a few combinations.
Scores and breaks
Settings and best scores are saved in this browser on this device. They do not sync to another device, and clearing site data can remove them. Use the pause controls when you need a break. Ending or restarting a game discards the current board. For help or a bug report, use the support page below.
